Like a good Boy Scout, you should always be prepared. This is especially true for Seniors. When purchasing an E-bike, Seniors should consider certain features. In my opinion the following features should be considered a priority.
Low Step-Thru Frame - Ease of mounting and dismounting
Throttle - Maintaining balance while starting out with both feet on the ground.
Wide Saddle - Your butt will thank me.
All other features you'll need to consider will be dependent on where you ride, how you'll ride, and your personal physical features like size, weight, height etc.
Accessories
There is a plethora of accessories available for aftermarket purchasing. The most common being Helmets, Phone Holders, Drink Holders, Tire Repair Kits, Air Pumps, Tool kits and Saddle Bags just to name a few. Most of these accessories are purchased by most everyone who owns an E-bike. There are a few accessories you may not think about until you need them. Below I have listed 5 items which may have flown below your radar screen when purchasing accessories. They are as follows:
Air Horn Canister $14.99
This is an accessory I discovered the hard way. When out on streets and trails, be aware of wild animals and attacking dogs. These bites happen in seconds with little notice, and you need to be prepared. A simple Air Horn Canister will usually stop an attacking animal in their tracks. Animals are basically cowards and only attack when they have the upper hand. A loud noise creates uncertainty and causes them to rethink their attack.
Lightweight Tow Strap $16.99
No one gives a thought to their bike breaking down. But if the unthinkable occurs, be prepared. Walking an inoperable bike for miles is something no one wants to do, especially a senior.
This handy device if used safely, can be a lifesaver.
Saphirose Rain Poncho $13.49
Few things are worse than getting drenched in a downpour. Flexible enough to protect your battery and controls and keep you dry. Many times, I've been out and caught in sudden showers soaking wet and freezing. Don't let this happen to you.
First Aid Kit $8.99
Accidents happen, so be prepared with a small First Aid Kit. This 150-piece kit has all the items necessary for minor injuries and emergencies.
Compact and portable, don't get caught without it.
Multi-tool Pliers w/Flashlight/Knife $15.29
Bibury Multitool Pliers with Flashlight is a very versatile tool to have on hand. It's a 14 in 1 tool that everyone should carry with them. It includes some of the following features: Needle-nose pliers, wire cutter, scissors, saw, flashlight, 5 different screwheads, file and knife blade. Super handy all in one tool.
I highly recommend you buy these items and keep them on hand or close by. You just never know when you'll need them. Happy e-biking and be safe.

LOVE that you included a rain poncho, breathable reliability that packs away nicely. Something I run into in my shop each and every week is folks riding on low tire pressure. It is not possible to press on your tire to tell pressure on modern tires. It hasn't been so since The 80's. A digital tire pressure gauge is an absolute must and super cheap. MOST of us older, porkier e-bike riders should run about 10#'s under max at all times (nearly all tires are rated max for 285#'s). ALL bike tires today need to be checked AT LEAST WEEKLY! Too much pressure and your tires chatter slightly on the pavement, costing you range and comfort. Too little and y…
