Groups Tutorial

Welcome to our Groups Tutorial. We designed this website for the purpose of bringing people together. Once you sign up for our FREE Membership, you can join an existing group or start your own for your area. These groups are your own personal social media platform for your private group. Just like Facebook and other platforms, you can post comments, pictures, links, organize events, hookup for rides, and a multitude of other things. Be sure to bookmark your group to make it easier to check back and engage your group.

At the bottom of this tutorial is a link to the group page. On our "GROUPS" page, (Mobile) click on "Group List", (Desktop) the list will appear on the right side of the page.  There you can search for a local group in your area. If you locate a local group for your area, click on "Join". It just takes moments to sign up (Please add picture and a short bio so others can learn something about you). This will also make your page more inviting for others to join.

* Keep in mind this site is new, so existing members are limited at the moment, and it will take time to grow your membership, so BE PATIENT. We also recommend that you bookmark your member and group pages for easy future access.

If you are unable to find an existing local group on the search page, you can create a new group by clicking on (+ Create Group). * IMPORTANT, when naming your new group, the group name must include your "City/Town/County, State, Country" so people can find your group in the search box.   Example: "E-bikes Over 50 - Denver, Co - USA".  Be sure to add a photo of your choice that is relevant to your group or group name, as well as any information, rules etc. to create membership interest. Be sure to bookmark your group to make it easy to return and check the messages, posts, and group participation. Again, be patient, it will take time to develop your membership.

Growing and Marketing Your Group to Increase Membership

As a member of "E-bikes For People Over 50" on this site, you have our permission to market your group on our main Facebook Group Newsfeed and access to our 35K+ members. Our Facebook page generates approximately 1,000 new members per week and receives approximately 250,000 views per month. However, because the page attracts a global audience, finding local people in your area is still limited, but doable, so please be patient in obtaining results.

To market your group on our main "E-bikes For People Over 50" main Facebook page, it is important to follow these rules to avoid the appearance of spam or risk your post being deleted by the admins.

Limit your post (link to your member page) to (1) one per week on the main feed. There is no limit in the comment sections as long as you believe your link is relevant to the people posting.

Pro tip: If you see someone posting or commenting from your area on the main "E-bikes For People Over 50" Facebook pages, tell them about your group, and post a link to your group.

(DO NOT RANDOMLY SPAM IN COMMENTS).

To create a post for our main Facebook page, go to "Your Group Page" and copy the link on the address bar at the top of your page. Then go to the "E-bikes For People Over 50" Group page and create a new post. Paste your copied link in the text area of your post and backspace or erase the link address once the link appears at the bottom of your post. This approach will take time, so please be patient.

The fastest way to grow your group would be to visit local bike shops and dealers in your area and have them join your group in exchange for letting them post free advertising in your group. Once they join your group, they will be happy to share your group with their existing customers via email etc. or allowing you to post a flyer as this will increase their advertising reach. Bike Shops and Dealers would be happy to see their customers connect with one another for rides and group affairs/events.

Don't forget to subscribe for updates and bookmark your pages for easy access. But most important, Be Patient as time is your friend when trying to grow your membership.
